A plan

I had a super-long run planned today. Then I woke up w/ a head cold. No fun. I just want to lay around and sleep. I did just manage to squeak out 3 miles. I just ran for the sake of running. I started to panic about getting sick. I was getting so nervous about the weight I might not lose if I am sick and not working out as much. And then I thought-- "Okay, I need to lighten up!" So I decided rather than stress about getting sick, I would make a plan for the week. And this is what I came up w/.
1. Stick to Jenny Craig 100%.

2. Make all my workouts. Even if they have to be shortened. (This may be tricky as Lisa is coughing and the nursery might not take her. But if I can't go to the YMCA for boot camp I'll do Billy Blanks boot camp at home.)

3. Sleep as much as possible.

I think if I follow these rules I should still lose weight this week and not feel too terrible. Oh yeah- last week I lost .8 of a pound. I'll take it! Wish me luck w/ this week's plan!

Last Chance Workout

On The Biggest Loser they call the last workout before their weigh in the "last chance workout". That is what I did tonight. I had a busy day and missed boot camp due to a dentist appointment. I knew all day that I needed to workout. My weigh in is in the morning. But I kept putting it off. I finally stumbled onto the treadmill at 9:30 pm. (Yes. You read that correctly.) I don't care to workout at night, but it had to be done. It truly was my last chance. I did full abs and legs toning afterwards. I am just finishing now. Both today and yesterday I have have kept my runs pretty short. Yesterday- 2.15 and today- 2.50. My IT band is bothering me again. I can't even think about it right now b/c it makes me crazy! I'll think about that tomorrow. Anyway, my workouts have been short but decent. I met w/ my trainer yesterday and she showed me how to use a few machines in the fitness center. She gave me a routine I can do in about 10 minutes if I have time after boot camp some days. I am exhausted and am off to bed now. BTW- Here is a picture of what comes up if you google "last chance". I think I would have rather been there tonight.

Late-Night Cravings

I am going to bed tonight craving Chipotle. I am not proud of this. Sometimes I feel like Chipotle should be one of the food groups. Wouldn't that be nice? Then you would feel like you were supposed to eat it. I have my friends from UD to thank for my Chipotle obsession. When I was working there they introduced it to me one day on lunch. I was pregnant and had been eating Mexican like it was going out of style. (Which it never will.) Anyway, it was love at first bite. I have never looked back. I ate it weekly, sometimes daily, during both my pregnancies. There is one located extremely close to my OB's office. (Put there for obvious sales reasons.) Even though I have not eaten it in over 9 months, my tastebuds have remained faithful. They bring Chipotle to my mind everyday. Good night!

Biggest Loser Shocker!

Tonight on The Biggest Loser the tables were turned on one of my favorite players. Jackie was thrown under the bus and voted off. I was so bummed for her until I saw the pictures of her today.... She has lost 70 pounds to date!! Way to go Jackie! I can't wait to see her at the finale.
In other news. I had 2 great work outs today. I ran a 3 mile tempo run this morning around 8 am. And then this evening I had a tough weight lifting session. I am feeling good... better than I have in a few weeks. I am off to bed. I have boot camp in the morning. Night-night.

Having a ball

I am really getting so much out of my boot camp class. It is difficult but so fantastic. Today we did our entire class holding an exercise ball. So we ran 5 laps around the track and then exercised w/ the balls. We did squats, jumps, lunges, jumping jacks, high knees, etc. All while holding the ball and moving it up and down, over, and around. It gives your shoulders, arms, and core a great workout. In between the ball work we did intervals of running on the track and sprints in the gym. We finished up w/ weights and light ab work (b/c the ball works your abs so much.) I've also started running before my boot camp class. I used to stretch in the hall for 10 minutes before class. Then I would wait for the other class to exit and by the time we began our warm up on the track we are already 5 minutes into class. Now I am just going up to the track and warming up while I wait for the class to come up. Then I stretch afterwards. I am able to get a least a mile in sometimes a mile and a half. And my legs actually feel better during boot camp! But I am still exhausted afterwards! Peace and good night.

Fun Weekend!

What a great weekend! Yesterday at my weigh in I was down -1.4 pounds! Yay me! I am so glad. Then I got to go to my sister's house. My parents took the kids and me to visit and we all had a great time. My niece turned 3 and she is the most DARLING child. Everything she says makes me laugh. She had me cracking up the whole visit! Then, today I was able to run in my sister's neighborhood which is so pretty. And it is always fun to run in a new area. My Dad logged the route for me and it looks like it was just over 6.5 miles. I was so exhausted by the end but it was a wonderful run. I had not run outside in a while. Finally, once I was back home and had the children in bed I was able to lift weights. That needed to happen one day this weekend and I am glad I was able to follow through and get the session in. (Totally 11th hour-- but who cares!) I am feeling great and I know the fun weekend had a lot to do w/ that. Also, I can't believe that I had 2 good weeks of weight loss in a row! I am hopeful for my upcoming week of exercise. Think of all the miles there are to run! Think of all the calories there are to burn! Think of all the pounds there are to lose! This week is going to be great! Peace out!
P.S. For some reason the spell check option is not working!! Yikes! Please let me know if you see an error so I can correct it.

Fiddle-Dee-Dee

I'll admit it. I am ignoring my blog. I haven't done housework in days. My children just got their first baths in I don't know how long. I am pretending to be Scarlett O'Hara. And I can think about those things tomorrow. I got the above book this week and I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN!! Rhett Butler's People is an authorized novel based on Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind. You can read more about it here on it's website. I know that some people don't care for GWTW spinoffs... but I read them shamelessly. I love the characters and I love reading about their lives. And I particuarly love Rhett Butler. (I actually used to carry a purse w/ his picture on it. Bad. I know.) So anyway- I am still working out like crazy and sticking to Jenny Craig. I have a weigh in tomorrow morning. But I haven't been getting much else done in my spare time b/c of the need for constant reading while the children are asleep. I am managing to get 2 to 3 hours of reading a night but it is often interrupted w/ phone calls, sick children, etc. I'll get back to blogging reguraly as soon as this chapter of my life is finished. I really do give a damn.
